Gamethingy Training Games ''All Polls'' Survey

16 June 2008
Gamethingy, the Business Training Games specialist, has released the new 'All Polls' survey on the use of training games.

Gamethingy surveyed over 1000 trainers each month for a 6 month period and asked the following questions:

· Why do you use Training Games?
· How many of the worlds top companies use Training Games?
· What can Training Games be used for?
· What is the most beneficial Training Game?

Surprisingly when asked why trainers used training games as part of their training over 50% said they used this method of learning to help make their training programmes “stick” whilst 27% said that games helped reduce the cost of learning.

Of the 6000 people surveyed, 27% said they mostly used training games to support established training programmes. However 25% also said that they used bespoke training games such as Customer Service training or Health and Safety training as stand alone training programmes. Evidently this is due to the belief that games help explore some of the difficult topics and content that more formal training techniques are unable to cover.

When asked what would you consider the most beneficial training game, 29% responded Customer Service, 26% Diversity Training, 22% bespoke or specially made training games. Health and Safety and Induction training games were also mentioned as important.
